In news unrelated to a certain NYK point guard, we saw a couple of great teammate combos last night.
Wizards SG Nick Young hit 7 out of 8 three pointers en route to a 35 point explosion, and teammate John Wall put up 29 points, 9 assists, 3 boards, 2 blocks and a steal.
The Kings were led by the streaking DeMarcus Cousins, who put up a monster game of 28 points, 17 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. His point guard Tyreke Evans flirted with a triple double with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.

Comedian Hasan Minhaj discusses the Jeremy Lin phenomenon, racist Photoshop projects, and why South Asians are also jumping on the Linsanity bandwagon.

"You cannot have a neck tattoo and get dunked on by a guy who took Calculus BC!"

Hasan grew up a Kings fan, and this may be the most successful basketball-related effort to come out of Sacramento in roughly a decade.

Paul Westphal, you’re fired!
Starting the year 2-5 and feuding with DeMarcus Cousins was enough to cost Sacramento’s coach his job, although Cousins claims that Westphal demanded a trade to the unemployment office.

NBA Haikus - 2011-2012 Season Preview - The Pacific Division

It’s going to be a short season after an even shorter off-season. We had limited time to track player movement, team development and bring you in depth team analysis, like we did last year. So the bros and bro-ettes at NBAO decided we’ll follow in the footsteps of the NBA and provide you with abbreviated team previews in the best way possible, haikus.

Our fifth installment of NBA Haikus is dedicated to the Western Conference’s Pacific Division. Divorces, drama, veto’d trades, new coaches, suspensions, injuries, more trade talk, and that’s just the Los Angeles Lakers. Will the Lobs Angeles Clippers finally break their curse? Welcome to the Reality TV Division.

Western Conference - Pacific Division:

Golden State Warriors:
Coach hand down, man down
And his ABA-ball team
will miss the playoffs
__________

Los Angeles Clippers:
Out-haul the Lakers
Welcome to Lobs Angeles
Can they trade for knees?
__________

Los Angeles Lakers:
The wise one is gone
Mamba still likes jewelry
Lakers have no chance
__________

Phoenix Suns:
Designer Handbags
Waste your last year with Steve Nash
Save all your money
__________

Sacramento Kings:
Still Sacramento
Super Jimmer on the way
No way out but up
__________

After 13 seasons, Peja Stojakovic has announced his retirement. Peja leaves the game fourth on the all-time list of three-pointers made. He won two All-Star Weekend three-point contests, a Eurobasket championship, a World Basketball Championship, and, last year, an NBA title with the Mavericks. Peja finished second in the league in scoring in 2003-4, and opened the eyes of an entire generation of Sacramento women to a rawer, more hirsute brand of male beauty. He proved you could be a successful, even dominant NBA player while still looking like a college student’s semester-abroad boyfriend, giving hope to countless Gallinaris, Vujacics, and Tskitishvilis over the years.
While Scott Pollard was the first of the 2002 Kings to win a title, Peja has the distinction of being the first of those former Kings to actually take the court in a winning Finals series. Peja will probably be able to drain 25-footers for another decade, but persistent back and neck problems are forcing him out of the NBA.
Doviđenja, Peja.

Tonight may be sadly the last home game for the Sacramento Kings. As we all know the Maloofs, owners of the team plan on moving the franchise to Anaheim, California.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and the team’s glory days.

Could the Kings please just fire Paul Westphal already? Look at him, he’s in agony. Just put him out of his misery and tell the rest of the Kings he went to live on a farm somewhere.
