Dang! Luol Deng has a torn ligament in his non-shooting wrist. It is being described as a “week-to-week” injury for who Jeff Van Gundy calls one of the most underrated players in the league.
At 16-3 the Bulls have the best record in the NBA despite having played more games in the young season than any team other than the Lakers, and a rash of injuries that has caused Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Richard Hamilton, Taj Gibson, CJ Watson, and now Deng to miss games.
On the bright side maybe Ronnie Brewer will get some much deserved credit for his utility role and improved offensive game. And as Kelly Dwyer points out it gives Luol some much deserved time to rest and heal.
“I’m not happy about my start offensively … but I’m also not worried because I know it will come around.”
After Deng-Dong’s career-high 40 points against Portland this eve, I’d say all is forgiven.
(Full credit to By The Horns for that tremendous nickname.)
