I also heard today that Shaq tells the story of how, during his Miami years, he threw Alonzo Mourning to the side, in the process of trying to get at Pat Riley. Shaq woke up the next morning to find one of his Shaq-Fu gold records in his bed, covered in blood.
(Only one of those two sentences is true. If you know anything about Pat Riley, don’t be so sure its the first one.)

(Post Edit: I edited this question because I originally phrased it by saying, “If you’re going to hate LeBron for offending the people of Cleveland by leaving to play in Miami…” and then followed up by asking how people felt about Kobe’s actions/choice of words. In hindsight, I should have explained that, to me at least, it seemed the public’s opinion about LeBron changed last Summer. They literally hated him for making the choice, or “The Decision” as he & ESPN called it. Now, Kobe has done something that shines the media spotlight on him, and may make many people reevaluate their opinion of him as a person. Probably not a as a basketball player, but maybe the person that he is off the court. The correlation I made was not articulated well, and for that I felt I should clarify. So, while almost everyone changed the way they felt about LeBron last Summer, does Kobe’s use of a gay slur during a game change the way you feel about him now?)
