Maybe it was because he was back to wearing black and blue, or maybe all those hours of practicing with his Shotloc while listening to DJ Khaled and T-Pain actually worked, but J.J. Redick scored a career high of 29 points tonight vs. the Denver Nuggets. 5-point-plays aside, his performance wasn’t enough to stop Carmelo (35/11, and possibly his last game as a Nugget?) as the Orlando Magic lose their 5th out of their last 6 games. No word if Stan Van Gundy will actually yell during the entire flight back to Orlando.
Stan: K so here’s the play right, as SOON as you grab the rebound CALL A TIMEOUT.
JJ: Right…so grab the rebound, then take a couple dribbles up the court, THEN call a timeout.
Stan: No. Just…grab the ball, then immediately call timeout.
JJ: Got it. So as soon as I get the ball…wait for Vince to complain to the ref and make that stupid face he makes…and THEN call a timeout.
Stan: Exac—wait, what? No. Don’t do that. In fact, do the exact opposite of that. Oh and don’t get me started on Vince’s pouty faces. Dude’s got uglier facial expressions than ME.
JJ: Alright good talk, coach. I’ll make sure to waste some time and advance the ball so that we can inbound in the backcourt with about 3 seconds left. Got it.
BREAKING NEWS. Orlando Magic’s J.J. Redick working on a rap album. This season is already off to a good start.
