Do-or-die game in Oakland tonight. Time for Steph Curry to bust out the bullet fedora.
“I went from wanting to trade him on the spot to wanting to cook breakfast for him tomorrow morning. That’s the truth. When I talk to him and say, ‘Manu,’ he goes, ‘This is what I do.’ That’s what he’s going to tell me. I stopped coaching him a long time ago.”

NBA Playoffs throwback: Golden State Warriors vs. San Antonio Spurs, 1991, Western Conference quarterfinals
The NBA on NBC intro as Don Nelson and Run TMC pay a visit to Mr. Robinson’s neighborhood. Listen to the novelty as Mike Fratello describes the Warriors style of “small ball”. San Antonio would win game 1 of the series and then lose 4-straight.
The series begins tonight at 9:30PM ET on TNT.
Throwback feat. 2007 Golden State Warriors

Roy Hibbert, post-Warriors kerfuffle. Maybe he thought Tom Haverford was trying to break up the fight?

Here’s Harrison Barnes of the Golden State Warriors modeling the team’s new alternate jersey - with sleeves! This is another questionable ambitious Adidas design, after this year’s special Christmas uniforms. The material is supposed to be 25% lighter, but the combination of t-shirt top and pinstriped shorts gives the whole ensemble a real “laundry day” look. Perhaps this new uniform is designed to appeal to 2013 free agent Dwight Howard, who loves sleeves of all kinds, and might take the court with a full Spandex cat burglar outfit under his jersey by the end of the year. Or, it will be a nice transition for undershirt-loving college kids on their way to the NBA. Patrick Ewing would have loved this jersey, and the added sweat absorption might have changed the course of his entire career.

James Harden and the Houston Rockets tied an NBA record with 23 three-points in a blowout win over the Warriors. At the end of three quarters, the Rockets were 18-27 from long-range, but shot “only” 5-13 the rest of the way. For the game, they were 57% on three-pointers, but only 45% on twos - they made as many three-point shots as two-point shots. Jeremy Lin made five, James Harden and Chandler Parsons each hit four, and even Donatas Motiejunas made one, the fourth of his career.
The hero for Golden State, if a 140-109 loss can have a hero, was Draymond Green. When Patrick Beverley tried to put up the record-setting three with 35 seconds left, Green knocked him down, earning an ejection, but also the respect of his peers. On a night where most of the Warriors didn’t show up at all, Green showed some real pride. The White Chris Webber should offer to pay his fine.
