It’s pretty hard to get Dap of the Year in the NBA, but Deron Williams and Reggie Evans giving it up mid-play after getting an offensive rebound is this years clear winner.

BREAKING: Deron Williams is staying a Net
So Deron Williams put up 57 points this evening, going 16-29 from the floor and a perfect 21-21 from the charity stripe.
That’s not only the NBA season high, but a franchise record for the Nets.
There’s no way Deron Williams ever plays a home game in Brooklyn, is there?

European basketball is still as foreign to me as the name of the teams, so excuse my ignorance if I overstate or understate the abilities of some of these teams. I hear EuroChallenge is some really good competition even though Göttingen isn’t Barcelona or anything like that.
Still, dropping 50 in a game is worthy of some praise so I won’t be one to hate. And if the Turkish coffee didn’t wake you up, maybe seeing Deron’s box score will. He went 17 of 23 including 7 of 10 from deep with just 2 turnovers.
You have to really feel for Nets fans. The Nets would have played the Warriors last night at home which means that if we let our imaginations run like wild stallions and we play the ultimate “what if” game, Deron could have dropped 50 in front of all 300 Nets fans at home. That would have been incredible for those fans since only two other players have scored at least 50-points since 1985 and those two happen to be Vince Carter and Stephon Marbury.
Now excuse me while I go watch that kid in pink lose his virginity all over again.

I’m really excited about the potential NBA/International pairings we could see if this lockout stretches into 2012. Maybe Amar’e lacing ‘em up for Maccabi Tel Aviv? Better yet, how about Kobe donning the Benetton Treviso uni??
New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams according to reports will play in Turkey this fall if the NBA lock out continues through the fall (which is increasingly likely). Williams may join Besiktas, a team that Allen Iverson briefly played for last season.
It’ll be interesting to see if more players, specifically, players of Williams’ caliber make the move to Europe or China to play during the lock out. The money will be there for a few months of work, but what about the risk of a career ending injury?
