Throwback feat. Michael Jordan & Charles Oakley
Song: ”Return of the G (Ryan Hemsworth Edit)”
Today is the 50th birthday of Jeff Van Gundy. The former Knicks and Rockets coach may be best remembered for his role in the famous Knicks-Heat brawl of May 1998. As Charles Oakley and Alonzo Mourning squared off, Van Gundy famously grabbed onto Mourning’s leg to prevent the fight. Van Gundy is now an analyst for ESPN’s coverage of the NBA. what a coach.
34 days left until the 2010-11 NBA season tips off.
Brought to you by the most memorable #34s in NBA history. Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Paul Pierce, Terry Cummings, Charles Oakley, Isaiah Rider, Ray Allen & Eddy Curry.
There is a lot of championships, MVPs, hardware and memorable moments between all of these players. I couldn’t choose just one so here’s all of them.
Partygoers at Chelsea lounge Avenue were amazed when Michael Jordan turned up at 1 a.m. Friday with Jay-Z. The NBA legend “was in a good mood, wearing a white button-down shirt with jeans and white sneakers. He was drinking scotch on the rocks,” a spy said. Jordan sat at Jay and Beyonce’s table, then headed upstairs, where “he chatted to other guests before leaving around 2:45 a.m.” Rick Ross, in a velour cardigan, performed for the packed club, while Fat Joe and DJ Cassidy ran the VIP lounge.
What? No dance off? No crown shaped cake? No waiters serving drinks from trapeze wires? I’m so glad I refused this invitation.
“The only way they’ll retire my jersey is if I marry Dolan’s daughter, and I never see that happening in life.”
Looks like DWADE pulled a Scottie on Varejaeo tonight. Topic of Discussion: Could this dunk possibly be the most menacing “facial” ever in the history of the NBA? (Pippen on Ewing, not Wade over Varejao)
