The afro-tastic Wes Unseld grabs 30 boards in a game, which is cool in itself, but those 30 rebounds pushed him past Dave Cowens in the final game of the regular season to win the rebounding title. (April 6, 1975)
As a result of that game, he averaged 14.8 rebounds a game, to Cowens 14.7.
And extra points for the vintage basketball card featuring an extinct team, right?

I remember we was playing the Sonics and my son - his name’s Lamont - he held a big sign up in the mezzanine. It read “Pop, I’m marrying a Puerto Rican.”
Oh no … NO, OH-NO! This is the big one! You hear that Elizabeth? I’m coming to join ya honey. With 16 rebounds and a Puerto Rican daughter-in-law.
