Nash to Howard
Say what you will about ‘social media’ giving us fans entirely way too much insight to a player’s life, but if there is any athlete who has excelled in doing so since day one, it’s Steve Nash.

The story goes, according to the gentlemen behind this wondrous exchange (now under the collective monicker @LA_BEER_BROS, also a great twitter handle), that they were on the way to an L.A. Dodgers game and happened to spot Steve Nash in a taxi cab down the 110.

After getting his attention, they, like the Pilgrims before them, convince Steve to accept their symbolic cornucopia that is Keystone Light as a form of bro reciprocity.

Success!

And of course, we all win. As a fan, this video makes you all sorts of happy. If you’re Steve Nash, this is a pretty excellent impromptu welcoming to the city of Los Angeles. Although, a more proper Angelino welcome would likely consist of handing off a baggie that was purchased from Buds on Melrose. But I’m sure Pau will show Steve around and they can both feel the pos vibes while wearing matching Messi jerseys.

Are you sad about the end of the basketball season? Then please enjoy this clip of Elton Brand kicking the ball off of Mike Dunleavy, Junior’s face, at Steve Nash’s annual soccer game in Chinatown. It’s like Euro 2012, only people actually scored goals in regulation.
There’s been no confirmation that Brand yelled, “That one’s for your old man!” afterward, but we are pretty sure he was at least thinking it.
“Everyone knows that Steve loves New York and that New York loves Steve. I love Steve. It would be great to have him here next year.”
—Amar’e Stoudemire to the NY Daily News
Amar’e wants Steve Nash in New York. Who wouldn’t, except maybe Jeremy Lin? I am not a cap expert, but unless Nash signs for the vet minimum it’s unlikely that the Knicks front office can both sign Nash and keep Lin with the mid-level, executing what would be an enticing mentor-mentee relationship.
Nash is undoubtedly more accomplished and has greater skills but he only has 1-2 good years left. We have seen Lin’s talent but what is unknown is his consistency. So what would you do if you were the Knicks?
Keep Jeremy or free Steve?

Song: Pete Rock “#1 Soul Brother”
Happy Birthday to the legendary Steve Nash, who turns 38 years young today.
In honor of his illustrious career as one of the greatest passers of all time, here’s a video of him getting an assist from Nicki Minaj.
That time Steve Nash had himself a good game against the ‘96 Bulls.
Do you embody the Nash-ness?
I hope Steve Nash is famous forever because his antics and personality are perfect for endorsement deals that can stretch far beyond the days of playing basketball.
Honestly, how many pro-athletes, let alone pro-basketballers can put out a viral video like this one and have you convinced that this is exactly how they are like when the cameras aren’t rolling.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, my Nash-ness is at a hundred, thousand, trillion.
