NBA Haikus - 2011-2012 Season Preview - The Southwest Division

It’s going to be a short season after an even shorter off-season. We had limited time to track player movement, team development and bring you in depth team analysis, like we did last year. You think I care what Tony Parker says? You think Tony Parker is gonna coach when he quits? Why would I listen to Tony Parker? … Get your ass out there and play, Tony. Tie the score. But talk about basketball, I don’t need Tony for that.
— Gregg Popovich, on Tony Parker’s claim that the Spurs were no longer contenders. If you’re wondering why Popovich is shopping him, wonder no more.

“It felt good. I knew I had good legs going into it. It felt good. I followed through and it went in. You really don’t think about the magnitude of making or missing it, you just think about trying to get the best shot that you can get. It went in today, but I think it’s the best shot I could have got in that situation.”

It only took 1.7 seconds for Gary Neal to save his team’s 1st round playoff series and the San Antonio Spurs season.

Playoffs baby. Revel in it.

NBA Logo Playoffs - Round 1

We’re back at it after a week of rest, and we really have two EXCELLENT matchups to kick off the week.

A colorful Spurs logo is taking on one of my favorite current logos from the Warriors. In the other match a shiny Magic logo and a classic Bullets logo are squaring off.

Which one will earn your vote?

“Kevin don’t know what the hell he’s talking about!”

San Antonio may have lost Game 1, but Coach Pop remains as salty as ever during in-game interviews.
