For the past couple of years, the Pheonix Suns have hosted an amazing outdoor game in Indian Wells, CA. This year the Suns hosted the Dallas Mavericks, edging the Mavs 98 to 90. 

I was lucky enough to be invited last year to enjoy the game with the Suns and Autotrader VIPs. The atmosphere is something else. No where else in the NBA can you enjoy being sandwiched between the stars in the sky and those on the court with a spectacular view of both. 

I wish the NBA would adopt this game as a regular season feature or perhaps even the All-Star event.

And just like that, all the national goodwill Phoenix built up with the “Los Suns” jerseys completely evaporated.

Jason Richardson goes into the crowd after a loose ball. Not pictured: Arizona Cardinals LB Joey Porter, who caught J-Rich when he landed in Porter’s lap.  Former Steelers agree that Ben Roethlisberger probably would have let Richardson crash to the floor untouched.

After the game, J-Rich and Porter are gonna go out, have a few drinks, and beat the crap out of Levi Jones.
