Paul Pierce has gone from Old Man Game to just Old Man.
It’s hard, especially being a Celtics fan, to see Cap age like this. Someone take him around back and let KG put him out of his misery.

Do not try to fight sleep. It’s pointless and inevitable. Shhh… let it wash over you. It doesn’t matter, you’re still standing. You will eventually fall down.

A verbal taunt. He directed profanity at Wade. And in the rule book, that is a verbal taunt.

Referee Dan Crawford explaining Paul Pierce’s 2nd technical foul and subsequent ejection.

He used a bad word? You should get ejected from Chuck E. Cheese for that; not the NBA Playoffs.

NBA Playoffs Throwback: Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat, 2010 Eastern Conference First Round; Pierce’s game winner. Game 1, 3:30 Sunday on ABC.

Paul Pierce and Ray Allen can’t miss, Knicks can’t defend.

No, that’s not a video of shootaround after a Celtics practice session. That’s in a playoff game. Not just any playoff game, the first Knicks home game since 2004 and that’s how the Knicks rewarded their faithful fans.

Sure, Ray Allen is the all-time 3-point leader who is also shooting 45% from deep. And sure, Paul Pierce is a serial killer who is tops among active players with 30+ point games at MSG. But this was inexcusable.

This defensive performance by the Knicks was beyond lethargic. Ray and Paul combined for 70 points on 25 of 37 shooting. They also combined for 14 of 19 from three.

It’s nights like this that make me think O'Antoni needs to go.

Here are the Boston Celtics, specifically on offense, some dying campfire that twitches an occasional rush to remind you of its glow; here too are the New York Knicks, specifically on defense, as though some magic kindling for that fire, propelling it towards “Heat.”
Rajon Rondo has NBA 2K’d for 50 assists against New York this season in only 3 games. A few of them may have been to Ray Allen, a rhythm shooter, who gets to play D’Antoni ball for at least 4 games. Paul Pierce, peacock that he is, will yet take more bows, assume the ritual with Spike, in the world’s most famous arena. Celtics bigs get to earn back some pride against a frontline that is Amar’e and [insert 6’9 player named Williams].
I know, I know Knicks fans, Carmelo and all that, but that time is not now. It will come, but still more lessons to be learned — the hard way — and what better opponent to learn them from; and what better class than 101 East Coast playoff ball? No layups, and if there are layups, WHY?

Paul Pierce and the Celtics treat Channing Frye like a human punching bag.

Channing Frye had to have known he was going to get annihilated in this game. Especially after some of the words exchanged between the two teams after their last match-up.

Kevin Garnett had already landed a devastating body shot, going for 28 and 11 on 12 of 14 (!!!) shooting. Paul Pierce just happened to step in with the uppercut. Lights out, Channing.
