I don’t know nobody that don’t like Blake. Except for the guys he dunks on.
— Chris Paul (on Blake Griffin)
According to the Los Angeles Clippers Twitter, Chris Paul will wear a face mask tonight after receiving a nasal fracture on Friday night.
Face masks are so big in L.A right now. I wonder what celebrity will wear on the red carpet next.

An Alternate Opinion on the MVP Race.

Yes, LeBron James is in the midst of a great season and the Heat are doing incredibly well. This shouldn’t shock any one since LeBron James is one of the greatest players in the history of the Association and he plays along with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in a weak conference (If the playoffs were to start today in the Eastern Conference, two teams with below 500 records would make the cut). All of this is expected of LeBron James. There are two things you should always be able to count on: water being wet and LeBron James having a great night. Perhaps, I have a narrow, an extremely narrow perspective on James’ game, but it just felt like what he did with the Cavaliers was more impressive than the Heat. I can’t explain it, but James seems more impressive when he has to lean on the likes of Anderson Varejao and Boobie Gibson in the clutch than Dwyane Wayne and Shane Battier.

When I think of an MVP, I think of a player that not only contributes in terms of stats but also affects the culture of the team. Look at what Tony Parker is doing with the Spurs this season. There’s Chris Paul and his complete overhaul of the Clippers. There’s Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose and Dirk Nowitzk and Lou Williams. If you want to drink the kool aid, you could even throw Jeremy Lin and Ricky Rubio’s names into the MVP race as well.

Look, it’s entirely too early to declare who’s the MVP of this truncated season, but it’s not a one player competition. There’s still a lot of games left.

Chris and Blake do a pretty decent rendition of “Goodbye, My Coney Island Baby”

Clippers center DeAndre Jordan has a new favorite hobby: posting photos of his teammates while they sleep on the team bus/plane on his Twitter account.

Also, it says a lot about what winning can do for team camaraderie. When you win, every night is a going to be a lot of fun.

“CP3 said the most alley-oops he’d thrown before joining the Clippers was when he played with Tyson Chandler in N’awlins, and Chandler wanted the ball aimed just outside the rim. When Paul arrived in L.A. and talked to Blake, he found out that Blake didn’t want the ball adjacent to the rim. “Instead of throwing right in front of the goal,” CP3 said, “Blake wants it back, really far back.” Paul pointed like a foot outside the rim. (“I try to add some flair to it,” Blake said.)”

Dear NBA, thanks for honoring the ABA. Now please burn these jerseys and leave no evidence.
For those that don’t know, the Clippers and the Girzz wore these atrocious uniforms to help celebrate the 45th anniversary of the founding of the ABA. The Clippers were representing the Los Angeles Stars and the Grizzlies were in the colorway of the Memphis Tams.
Thanks but no thanks, NBA.

Chris doesn’t like that stuff. He’s got that little-man complex. I do that to his head all the time. Man, he just hates it. But he’s a tough little [expletive], and he’s not going to let that [expletive] slide, accident or not.

Kobe Bryant, on Chris Paul and the dust up between Paul and Pau Gasol at the end of last night’s game.

Gasol, Lakers show they’re still full of fight - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

It’s interesting to see how Kobe Bryant is down playing the budding rivalry between the Lakers and Clippers in Wojnarowski’s article. If it was just another friendly game between big brother and little brother, the game wouldn’t have been as physical and playoff like as it was. The calendar may say it’s still January, but at Staples, it felt like May. It felt like game five and the series was tied at two games a piece.

Side note: Lakers/Clippers isn’t a rivalry, technically, it’s a derby.

Chris Paul does not like to be touched, sir. He doesn’t like to lose, either.

He was 0 for 2 tonight as the Clippers lost and Pau fondled his head.
