Mike Miller was a much sought after free agent this offseason.
Why?**
I don’t get it. Neither does Tom Ziller of AOL’s Fanhouse. He is, perhaps was, a good shooter. But what else does he do? And moreover, why does anyone think of him as the missing piece to a championship puzzle.
Explain yourself, believers.
I felt the exact same way when everyone was making a big deal out of Antawn Jamison going to another LeBron James team this past season. Read #7 here. And look at how that ended…
Neither player has ever shown up big when it mattered. Ladies and gentlemen, these two are the same guy.
In Miller’s 20 playoff games (all first rounders), his shooting has plummeted. His FG% drops from a career .464 to .400. His 3P% went from .405 to .344.
And what’s even worse, like Antawn Jamison, Mike Miller plays no defense.
Maybe I’m afraid of LeBron. And maybe I’m afraid of Dwyane Wade. But Mike Miller and Alfred mean nothing to me. You have to earn respect.
**I’ll say it…I think part of the attention to Mike Miller is racist. I think he gets attention because people think of him as a “white shooter,” in the mold of John Paxson, Steve Kerr, Danny Ainge, etc., and that he “rounds out” the Miami Heat. Who is the minority Mike Miller? I bet you he makes nothing in the league, and I bet you he wouldn’t get as much attention in free agency. Help me out. Who is it?
