Before the season season, the general consensus was that the 76ers didn’t care about winning. They traded their biggest star, announced their top draft pick was out for the season, and seemingly only cared about their position in next year’s draft. Everyone knew it, they were “tanking.”
So far they’ve been a Sherman tank, rolling over Eastern Conference contenders with their giant treads, with Michael Carter-Williams steering and the sweet-shooting Spencer Hawes manning the gun turrets. It’s very exciting for Philadelphia fans, but last night’s come-from-behind victory over the Bulls may have been D-Day for General Manager Sam Hinkie’s rebuild plans.
