I think Ron-ron put on too much muscle last off-season, and I think it hurt his game. He’s too cumbersome out there. It’s like watching Robocop roll to the basket. Basketball is still, mostly, a game of fluidity.
Don’t get me wrong though, Artest has done a good job fitting in with the Lakers. You Bulls fans out there will remember how tough it was on new players trying to adjust to the triangle offense. Dennis Hopson anyone? Rodman probably did it best, which has a note of irony considering who we’re talking about today.
Still, Artest might want to stay away from muscle beach next off-season. I hear Gwenny’s got a good trainer.
