Have you seen this clip of the Warriors bench from last Wednesday’s game in Oakland? Blake Griffin forces up a three at the end of the shot clock and clangs it off the side of the backboard, and the bench - specifically Kent Bazemore - goes nuts.
We can’t confirm this, but it seems likely that Blake Griffin and the Clippers have also seen this clip, and they took it personally tonight. Griffin’s line in the first quarter alone:
14 points (6-7 FG, 2-3 FT), 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 fouls drawn.
When you consider that Chris Paul was in the game throwing alley oops to the starters while up by 35 (granted, it was still the third quarter), you have to think that the Clippers were avenging more than just a loss last night. That, or they were making sure teammate Ronny Turiaf retains his title as King of the Bench Dances.
