Is Trevor Ariza actually the most valuable free agent available this offseason?
Assuming that Ariza doesn’t ever turn into a full-fledged star, what’s more important for teams to be looking at this summer: a couple seasons of a fading All-Star, or an absolutely invaluable role player who will be around for years? It’s no accident that the Lakers, whose young core is almost as important to them as a certain MVP candidate, have made keeping him such a priority.
