NBA Playoffs Throwback: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, 2010 Western Conference first round
Pau Gasol’s tip-in with :00.5 seconds off a Kobe Bryant miss closes out the 8th seeded Thunder in six games. Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant are held to 21 and 26 in the game respectively and a younger, beardless James Harden scores just 2 points. Los Angeles advances to defeat Utah, Phoenix, and then Boston in the NBA Finals.
The 2012 rematch begins with Game 1 Monday at 9:30pm EST on TNT.

The Associated Press is reporting that LeBron James has been named MVP for the 2011-2012 season. James is expecting to receive the trophy on Sunday just before the start of the Heat’s game against the Indiana Pacers.
In addition to putting up career high numbers, James lead the Heat to fourth best record in the league.

Kobe’s #poogame last night has us revisiting “The Flu Game.”
Where do the Atlanta Hawks go from here? Since ending their playoff drought in 2008, the Hawks haven’t progressed in any fashion. Yes, the Hawks appeared in the Eastern Conference Semi Finals in 2009, 2010, and, 2011, but the team appears to be treading water.
It could be inferred the Hawks have benefited from the lopsidedness of the Eastern Conference (Two teams to rule them all). So, do the Hawks blow up the team and start fresh again? Or do they just stand and attempt to acquire pieces through free agency?
